Handball Australia was heading to the 2020 edition of the Asian Men's Championship was staged in Kuwait, in only their second attendance. 

A burgeoning sport in Australia, the players are amateur compared to the other competing countries. The preparation, travel and training is self-funded, but Handball Australia was ready to take on every challenge.
