Melbourne, Australia. March 2nd 2021 - AKU announces the launch of subsidiary company AKU Japan, based in Toyota, Aichi, Japan.

AKU was born in 2017 in Melbourne, Australia, by a group of friends on a mission in part, to help create identities for teams through their teamwear. With a purpose to unite and empower people with an identity through teamwear, the brand has seen revenue increase 100% year on year and stabilising during a COVID impacted 2020, driven by continued growth across Australia and Asia, with well over 1,000 teams across the world wearing AKU teamwear. This has been supported by stable year on year sales of AKU lifestyle wear.

After a successful soft launch of AKU teamwear sales in Japan, and having identified a clear gap in the market for accessible, fully custom teamwear in the Japanese market, AKU Australia has engaged BRASIT to partner in the subsidiary company AKU Japan as the official agents of AKU teamwear to all of Japan. Led by Hiroshi and Felipe Yamashita and based in Toyota, Aichi, BRASIT will manage the day to day operations, marketing and partnerships within Japan, under AKU Australias framework and guidance, reporting in to AKU Director & Founder Ruz Roslan.

AKU Japan and akuonline.jp is due to go live at 12PM (AEDT) on the 3rd of March 2021, starting its launch proudly with Team Member and Brand Ambassador Rafael Sakai, a former Nagoya Oceans and Japan Futsal player as well as AKU athletes Leandro Pereira (Gamba Osaka - J League) and Hirata Massanori (Nagoya Oceans and Japan Futsal).
