Its a weird feeling when you're standing in the tunnel, focused, about to step on the court to represent your country at one of biggest futsal competitions in Asia. The sound of the crowd crashes through the tunnel but all I can hear is my own thoughts, preparing myself for the game.

It feels like a lifetime ago when I made my debut representing Timor Leste at the 2016 ASEAN Futsal Championships. Just a guy who grew up on the outskirst of Melbourne, wearing my countries flags against the best of the best players in Asia. Guys i'd watched, studied and learned from my home, to feeling the sweat from their shirt as I was checking them at a set piece. It was unreal.

Life has a funny way of coming full circle. One of my, and the AKU teams highlights over this heavy lockdown period has been watching the Futsal Thai League online. Watching these same players that I played with no more than 4 years ago. I may not be on the court but im proud my presence is there in another capacity. Kits that I created and designed, take the courts today. Our AKU Athletes dominate on the court but come off the court solely representing our brand. It's a different feeling but it's fulfilling all the same.

Hopefully, when this is all over, I can head down and be a part of it all over again.
