We believe a uniform is an extension of a teams soul which makes the a club logo the heart of how a team is represented. We've worked with plenty of clubs in our time and have seen our fare share of weird, wacky and amazing logos but here's our list of some WTF professional logos...
10. INDEPENDIENTE SANTE FE (FOOTBALL, COLOMBIA)
The Independiente Santa Fe logo features a classic shield design shape, as used by many clubs, with the team name written at the top, again, standard. However, it get's a little weird when you look inside the shield and while your standard clubs tend to have a mascot or something relevant to the city or team, Santa Fe have left the shield largely blank with a random red circle at the bottom right of the badge. Why? We have no idea.
9. 2012 OLYMPICS (LONDON)
I get that they're probably trying to be progessive with this one but there's too much going on and it looks like it's saying 20IR. The logo also brings back Manchester United third kit vibes and i'm put off anything Manchester at the moment.
8. 1955 KANSAS CITY ATHLETICS (BASEBALL, USA)
An, elephant, holding a bat, balancing on a baseball. Need I say more?
7. BOHEMIANS 1905 (FOOTBALL, CZECH REPUBLICH)
A Czech club with an Australian kangaroo? There's a bit of history to this one which kind of makes sense. In 1927, Bohemians went on a tour of Australia and once the tour was over, the Australians gave the Bohemians two kangaroos as a gift and the rest, as they say, is history.
6. FC AVERNIR BEGGEN (FOOTBALL, LUXEMBOURG)
Any club which has the balls to use microsoft paint of a gnome riding a football is well respected in my books. Avernir play in Luxembourgs second division so they're not necessarily football giants but they'll always have a soft spot in my heart.
5. COLOMBUS CREW (FOOTBALL, USA)
This looks like the album cover of a 90's boyband instead of a football club. Needless to say, this logo was scrapped in 2014 for a more mainstream logo. Not going to lie, i'm a bit disappointed.
4. ROMA (FOOTBALL, ITALY)
I'd never really looked closesly at this one but two babies sucking on a teat of a female wolf?! The real backstory is the portrayal of the female wolf with the two infant brothers Romulus and Remus, illustrating the myth of the founding of Rome. Thats your education for the day ladies and gentlemen.
3. 1946 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (NFL, USA)
A dude, shooting guns in random directions freely. This is amazing.
2. FC SANTA CLAUS (FOOTBALL, FINLAND)
I guess this makes sense if your team name is 'FC Santa Claus'. I'd love to know how the branding team went about branding this club, but ulltimately, founded in 1993, in the Finnish city of Rovaniemi, FC Santa Claus play in a 2,500 capacity stadium in the third tier of Finnish football.
1. UNIVERSITARIO (FOOTBALL, PERU)
The 26-time Peruvian champions are the most dominant club in Peruvian history so I guess they can do what they want. The story goes, 90 years ago the founder, Luis Malaga drew up the big 'U' and liked the look of it and its stuck since.
